The Cleveland Clinic in Avon is a healthcare campus on a 40-acre site situated on the western edge of Greater Cleveland and on the eastern side of Lorain County. The facility expands the Clinic鈥檚 range of services to the area and its commitment to these communities. Initially, the project was comprised of two major structures: a four-story Health Center of approximately 120,000 square feet, and a two-story ASC (Ambulatory Surgery Center) of 60,000 square feet. The ASC houses an outpatient surgery center, a free-standing Emergency Department with 24-hour service, and an Imaging suite. The two structures are linked by two-story atrium and centralized entrance that contains several small retail spaces on the First Floor and Conference rooms on the Second Floor. 色控传媒 provided full architectural and engineering services for this project.
As part of the first phase of the project, 色控传媒 performed master planning services for their 200 acre parcel in Avon, Ohio. This includes planning for the future hotels, restaurants, commercial, retail, and a new Cleveland Clinic campus.
The site has unique visibility with its proximity to I-90. Through the planning effort, 色控传媒 identified the best locations for hotels, a restaurant core with a distinctive dining experience and a location for a medical facility to be occupied by the Cleveland Clinic.
The design of the buildings and the site had several unique challenges. The site and buildings had to be designed to allow for expansions. The site also has a large wetland area and zoning requirements for over 800 parking spaces in the first phase. In addition to these constraints, there is also a helipad on the property as well as areas designated for healing gardens and nature trails.聽色控传媒 integrated these requirements into a successful design that is organized around a strong central green and that presents a strong presence for travelers on the adjacent highway.
